Italy, the 1960s...
Lisa and Sam Stillman are a young American couple on their first trip to Europe. During a layover on their way to Italy, they are given a mysterious message by a dying secret agent.
From now on accompanied by Inspector Buffone from Interpol for their protection, they join a luxurious bus tour, unaware that they are already involved in a political conspiracy.
Grand Tour is a lighthearted mix of caper comedy and romantic thriller set against the backdrop of a nostalgic Italian holiday.
Grand Tour was born from my love for traveling to Italy and Jetset-age Hollywood movies that were shot on real, often southern European, locations, like The Pink Panther (1963), Roman Holiday (1953), It Started in Naples (1960), Two for the Road (1967) or Avanti! (1972).
I wrote, illustrated and designed Grand Tour between 2024 and 2025 as my communication design diploma thesis at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany. In addition to the 112-paged comic book, I built a bus-shaped bookstand and illustrated three stickers inspired by the golden age of travel.
I am also searching for a company interested in publishing Grand Tour. If you're interested, feel free to get in touch!
